These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the RideBase platform by all users. By registering an account, publishing a listing, or using the search, application, or newsletter functions, you agree to these terms.
Important — please read carefully in full: RideBase is exclusively a technical marketplace platform. We do not broker contracts, are never a contractual party to any riding share arrangement, and assume no liability whatsoever for events occurring between users outside the platform (see Sections 9 and 10).
Note: The Privacy Policy at https://ridebase.ch/en/privacy is an integral part of these Terms and Conditions.

3. Services Provided by RideBase
3.1 Marketplace Function
RideBase provides a technical platform on which Advertisers can offer riding share arrangements and Applicants can apply for them. RideBase acts exclusively as a hosting and listing platform. In particular, RideBase is not:
- a contractual party to any riding share arrangement,
- an intermediary, broker, agent, or trustee,
- an insurer or risk carrier,
- an arbitrator or mediator in disputes between users,
- a guarantor of the identity, suitability, reliability, riding ability, solvency, or character of any User,
- a guarantor of the health condition, suitability, behaviour, or accuracy of information regarding a horse.
RideBase reviews Listings on a random basis and reserves the right to moderate content, but assumes no guarantee for the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or legality of user-generated content.
3.2 Availability
RideBase aims to provide the highest possible availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance windows, technical issues, or force majeure events may lead to interruptions. Users have no claim to any specific level of availability.
3.3 Further Development
RideBase may modify, expand, or discontinue parts of the platform, its functions, or appearance at any time. Material changes will be communicated to users in an appropriate manner.
4. Registration & Account
4.1 Requirements
- Minimum age: 16 years. Persons under 16 require consent from a legal guardian.
- Mandatory information must be provided truthfully.
- Only one account per person is permitted. Shared accounts or accounts under false names are prohibited.
4.2 Access Credentials
The User selects their own password and is obliged to keep it confidential. In the event of suspected unauthorised access, the password must be changed immediately and RideBase informed without delay.
4.3 Login with Google
Alternatively, login may be performed via Google Identity Services. Transmitted data is used exclusively for authentication and profile completion — see Privacy Policy.
5. Listings
5.1 Content and Duty of Accuracy
Listings must be truthful, complete, and up to date. Images, descriptions, and information regarding the horse must reflect reality. The Advertiser bears sole responsibility for the content.
5.2 Prohibited Content
The following content is prohibited in particular:
- Content violating animal welfare, animal husbandry, or animal disease laws
- Listings concerning horses not owned by the Advertiser or published without the owner’s consent
- Commercial horse dealer advertisements unless explicitly labelled and coordinated with RideBase
- Offensive, discriminatory, sexualised, or youth-endangering content
- Advertising for third-party products, affiliate links, spam, chain letters
- Listings clearly intended for unlawful or commercial solicitation purposes
- Content infringing copyrights, trademarks, or personality rights of third parties
- Images of identifiable persons without their consent
- Location details violating the privacy or protection rights of third parties
5.3 Publication and Duration
A published Listing remains publicly visible for 60 days. Reminder emails are sent 30 and 7 days before expiration; extension is possible via click. After expiration, the Listing is automatically taken offline but may be reactivated at any time.
5.4 Moderation
RideBase may archive or delete Listings at any time without prior justification if they violate these Terms and Conditions, appear abusive, or pose legal risks.
5.5 Licence Granted to RideBase
By publishing content, the Advertiser grants RideBase a non-exclusive, worldwide, free-of-charge, transferable licence to use uploaded texts and images solely for platform operation purposes (display, CDN delivery, storage, search indexing, previews in newsletters and RideBase social media posts). The licence ends upon deletion of the Listing; however, already delivered newsletters will not be recalled.
5.6 Rights Guarantee by the Advertiser
The Advertiser guarantees that they possess all necessary rights to uploaded content and do not infringe third-party rights. In the event of third-party claims, the Advertiser shall fully indemnify RideBase upon first request (see also Section 10).
6. Applications and Communication Between Users
6.1 Direct Contact
Applications are sent from the Applicant to the Advertiser. Contact details are transmitted to the Advertiser. Any further communication takes place directly between the two parties.
6.2 Rules of Conduct on the Platform
Users undertake to communicate respectfully and objectively on the platform. Harassment, spam, threats, discrimination, or the mass sending of identical applications are prohibited and may result in account suspension.
6.3 Off-Platform Interaction Entirely at User’s Own Risk
Once users continue communication outside the platform — whether by email, telephone, messenger services, stable visits, trial rides, or concluding a riding share arrangement — they leave RideBase’s area of responsibility. Everything occurring between users outside the platform or resulting therefrom takes place entirely at the users’ own risk. RideBase has neither control over nor insight into such activities and assumes no liability whatsoever for them (see Section 9).
6.4 Contracts and Terms Exclusively Between Users
Any riding share arrangement is agreed exclusively between Advertiser and Applicant. All terms and conditions — including frequency, monthly contributions, insurance obligations, trial periods, liability arrangements, and termination terms — are solely to be regulated between the parties themselves. RideBase strongly recommends a written agreement but is not involved in such agreements.
7. Fees
7.1 Currently Free of Charge
As of May 1, 2026, the use of RideBase is entirely free of charge for all users, including creating and managing Listings, applying to Listings, saving favourites, newsletters, and all other functions.
7.2 Reservation of Future Fees
RideBase reserves the right to introduce charges for individual functions, premium features, or general platform operation in the future. Such changes will:
- be announced to all registered users by email at least 30 days in advance,
- be transparently incorporated into these Terms and Conditions,
- apply exclusively to actions taken by the User after the changes enter into force.
Listings already published at the time of a price introduction remain free of charge for their remaining active duration.
7.3 No Commission or Brokerage Claim
RideBase does not charge commissions or brokerage fees for riding share agreements between users. Financial transactions between users (e.g. monthly stable cost contributions) never pass through RideBase and remain exclusively the responsibility of the respective parties.
8. Content and Intellectual Property
8.1 Ownership of User Content
Content uploaded by Users remains the property of the User; only the licence described in Section 5.5 is granted.
8.2 Ownership of the Platform
The layout, design, logo, source code, database structure, texts (excluding user content), and the “RideBase” brand are the property of Lawrence Stadler and Nicola Fankhauser. Any use outside the intended platform functionality — particularly systematic extraction (scraping), copying, or reuse — requires prior written consent.
9. Disclaimer of Liability
9.1 General Limitation of Liability
RideBase shall only be liable for direct damages caused by gross negligence or intentional misconduct. Liability for slight negligence, indirect damages, consequential damages, loss of profit, immaterial damages, or failure to achieve a specific result is fully excluded to the extent permitted by law.
