This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on ridebase.ch, for what purpose, and how you can control their use. It complements our privacy policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that your browser places on your device when you visit a website. They allow a website to recognise you on a later visit or to provide certain features (e.g. login session, form protection, language preference). Comparable technologies include LocalStorage, SessionStorage and similar browser-storage mechanisms.
2. Why Does RideBase Use Cookies?
RideBase uses cookies and browser storage exclusively for:
- the technically necessary operation of the platform (login session, anti-CSRF token, language and locale detection),
- the comfort functions of the platform (recently viewed listings, image-crop settings),
- bot and abuse protection (Google reCAPTCHA),
- anonymous reach measurement without personal identification (Plausible).
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or cookies for profiling.

5. Consent Management with Cookie-Script
For obtaining and managing your cookie consent we use the tool Cookie-Script.
- Provider: SIA Support Tower, Antonijas iela 24-2A, Riga LV-1010, Latvia.
- Website: https://cookie-script.com
- Purpose: display of the cookie banner on first visit, storage of your selection, provision of the "Change cookie settings" link in the footer.
- Data processed by Cookie-Script: anonymised IP, timestamp of consent, type of consent (accepted / rejected / per-category), browser language, URL of the page on which consent was given — as evidence under GDPR/revFADP.
- Storage location: EU.
- Retention period: up to 12 months from consent.

The CookieScriptConsent cookie set by Cookie-Script contains only your selection (e.g. accepted, rejected, or a category-based selection). It is not linked to advertising tracking.
6. How to Control or Withdraw Your Consent
6.1 Via the cookie banner
On your first visit Cookie-Script shows a banner. You can:
- Accept all — all non-essential cookies are activated,
- Reject all — only "strictly necessary" cookies are set,
- Settings — choose category by category which cookies you allow.
You can change your selection at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer.
6.2 Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent at any time, for the future, by re-opening the cookie settings and adjusting your selection, or by deleting the CookieScriptConsent cookie in your browser. A withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
6.3 Via browser settings
You can delete cookies, prevent them from being set, or set up a notification before they are set in your browser at any time. Help articles:

6.4 Do-Not-Track / Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a "Do-Not-Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, we treat it as a rejection of non-essential cookies, where technically feasible.
7. Third-Party Cookies and Cross-Border Transfer
Some cookies are set by third parties we embed on the platform:
- Google reCAPTCHA — Google Ireland Ltd., Ireland; data transfer to the USA possible (EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
- Cookie-Script — SIA Support Tower, Latvia (EU).
- Supabase Auth — based in Singapore, EU region (Frankfurt) for our data.

8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies or the legal requirements change. The current version is always available at https://ridebase.ch/en/cookie-richtlinien. The cookie list in the cookie banner is updated automatically by Cookie-Script.
